Note – I purchased all of the products listed in this post.
I’ve been proclaiming my love for Lush lately, but I just love their products. I love that they’re natural and I love what they do for my skin. They recently opened a store that isn’t in the Mall of America, so I don’t have to go there in order take a look at products in person. (I really don’t like MOA. Every once in awhile I have the urge to go, but most of the time I try to stay far away.) Since it’s easier for me to get to, I’ve been going more often to check out their products!
Here’s a product I wasn’t sure I was going to love. To be honest, I can’t use the word “love” to describe how I feel about this one, but I definitely like it and I like it much more than I thought I would.
I’ve tried one other Lush face wash and the one thing that always throws me off with these products is the way you apply it. You take a small, pea-sized amount of product, mix it with water and rub it between your palms to create the “soap.” This one is definitely easier to work with than the other face wash that I tried, but it still takes more work than a face wash that you squeeze or pump out of a tube.
Dark Angels is a charcoal face scrub, so it also exfoliates. You’ve probably heard me talk about charcoal face products before; I swear by them! My skin always looks its best if products with charcoal have a place in my skincare routine. I can’t tell you why, it just works for my skin. I also love products that exfoliate, but I’m particular about them. I want a product that’s eco-friendly and one that isn’t too harsh. I have red cheeks and sensitive skin; I don’t need to use a harsh exfoliating product that will irritate my cheeks.
When I first started to use Dark Angels I thought it was too rough. I used it only on the outer edges of my face and wasn’t sure I’d continue to use the product. I decided to stick with it, though, and now it’s not so bad. In fact, I actually like it. It doesn’t seem so harsh anymore and I use it all over my face–even on my cheeks. I’m wondering if the top layer of the product was the harshest.
I didn’t use it much at the beginning of the August. With all that was happening with my family, I did what was fast and easy when it came to skincare. I’ve been thinking about Dark Angels, though, and finally had to pull it out. My face felt so good after I finished washing it, and that’s when I knew that it was time to write about it on the blog. I went from thinking I wouldn’t finish up the product to thinking, “I’d like to keep this around!”
