10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week // 04

10 things that made me happy this week. 9/24/15. // dreams-etc.com

Happy Friday! I’m so ready for the weekend.

1 // The official start of fall.

2 // Reading a good book.

3 // Pulling out autumn decor.

4 // Discovering a new tea.

5 // Scandal is back!

6 // Going to see Eagle Rock Gospel Singers.

7 //  Rain!

8 // Going out for dinner with my dad.

9 // Feeling creatively fueled.

10 // Finding a library book that I thought was lost and didn’t want to pay for.

Also, a shout out and bonus happy thing goes to Little One, who was mad at me last week (for a long workday on Tuesday, I think) and ignored me most of the week. Or maybe she just had an introverted week, but Cavaliers are known for holding grudges. Even though I had more nights out of the house this week, she greeted me with an excited wiggle when I came home and got lots of cuddle time in while I was home.

I love rain, too! It’s rainy here today which is no fun on work days, but I hope it continues raining over the weekend so I can curl up with a good book and really appreciate it.

I love how concise and to the point your list is.

Don’t you just hate when you get the cold shoulder from our furry friends? I get them often, that or the stink eye. Lol!

Thanks for linking up Hun and have a great weekend!

I love sleeping while it’s raining, and that happened for me this week – so that’s a #11 to my list of things that made me happy.

Must admit I’m not a fan of rain and we’ve had a rainy windy week. That’s cute that your dog has forgiven you 🙂 Pets are awesome.

  • “When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?” [Ralph Marston]

I used to see my dad just sit and think, “How can he do that?” I always wanted to be doing something.

And now I try to remember—and often forget—to find pockets of time to be still.
  • I forgot it was Earth Day when @annagracegruen and I decided to visit the conservatory at the University of Minnesota today.

I love that this is a working conservatory. There are tight spaces, browning leaves, and notes to help those who work there care for everything. It’s one of the things I love about it.

What did you do on Earth Day?
  • Easter prep has kept me busy, but the to-do lists are all checked off and it’s time for a few days of rest. On the agenda: a trip to the conservatory and repotting some of my plants that need new homes. What are you up to today?
  • Here’s your reminder to take the time to look up and around each day, even in the midst of the hustle.

I was reminded of this tonight. The sky was showing off and birds chirped this evening as I left the office. I took some time to take it all in and breathe the fresh air. The first three days of this week are jam-packed for me, but it’s so refreshing to take time to just be.
  • Missing these nighttime views. 🌙 ✨ 🌃
  • I had a tight frame to get to the airport and through security yesterday. As I contemplated missing my flight I decided it would be God’s way of telling me to move to New York. Unfortunately, not only did I get through security in record time, I made it home before all the delays that might have kept me in New York for a few extra hours. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ On the bright side: I guess I don’t have to figure out how to get Mina to New York and I got to soak up alllll the puppy cuddles last night.
  • "Everything you can imagine is real." [Pablo Picasso]

MoMA was a dream. And inspiring. Do something that inspires you this week.
  • Met this handsome fella today. His name is Chauncey. When he blooms he’ll smell like eau de rotting meat and will make everyone swoon. 😍🥴😷 (If you live in the Twin Cities and visit him on Tuesday you might be able to see/smell him in all his glory.)
