I’ve always wanted to do a photo-an-hour project, so when I heard about the #1day12pics project on MYCreative, I knew I wanted to participate. I took all iPhone pictures for the project and posted all of them on Instagram, so if you follow me and were watching on Saturday, you’ve probably seen all of these already. But I thought I’d post a recap. I had a lot of fun with the project and will definitely participate again, although I think next time I will take all of the pictures with my DSLR. I enjoyed participating in the hashtag on Instagram, but one of the reasons I wanted to do a project like this is to pull out my camera and use that more often instead of always using my iPhone to take pictures by default.
So, here are the pictures.
9am. Little One and I woke up late on Saturday. I drink a green smoothie almost every day, so first thing in the morning I drank a smoothie and read a book. (The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls, by Claire Legrand.)
10am. Little One never hesitates to let me know when she thinks it’s time for another tummy rub. One thing that she loves about weekend mornings is the opportunity for more tummy rubs than usual.
11am. After a few hours I decided it was time to put the book away and get some work done. I had some baking to do so I decided to take my work to the kitchen with me.
12pm. Once I was upstairs I realized that I hadn’t had any coffee. So I grabbed a cup. (Mug is from Curly Girl Designs. I love her work!)
1pm. Little One and I stepped outside for a little break, so I checked out the tomato plant.
2pm. I finally started baking. The first step: browning butter.
3pm. An hour later the coffee cake was done. I made my dad’s favorite for coffee hour at his church on Sunday. I didn’t think it was my best work, but other people enjoyed it.
4pm. There were fireworks nearby and Little One barked at them. When I told her not to bark she walked into her crate. Look at how sad the poor puppy looks! She stayed there for awhile, though. She likes her crate; it’s a safe place for her, which is what I want it to be.
5pm. After the baking and Little One’s self-imposed time in the crate, I watched some YouTube videos. I pulled out my calendar, thinking that I’d start planning out my week and be a little productive as I watched the videos, but… I didn’t.
6pm. After posting the sad picture of my sweet pup, I had to post a better one. Here she is, checking the yard to see if there was anything she had to investigate when we went outside. She protects her turf. (Actually, she races toward whatever she sees until she starts to get closer, at which point she hangs back. No need to get too close, after all. And when I reach down to grab whatever it is, she inches forward, sees that it’s an inanimate object and doesn’t give it another thought.)
7pm. Pulling out eyeshadow for a make-up look that will be up on Secret Life of Mermaids today.
8pm. Dirty brushes after the make-up look was finished and photographed.
And that was the end of a very boring photo-an-hour. I had plans to get a lot of work done that day to get ahead on things before my new job starts next week, so it probably wasn’t the best day to take so many photos of what I was doing, but it was the scheduled day and it was a lot of fun anyway.
Have you ever taken a photo an hour for an entire day? Give me the link to your posts. I’d love to see!
