Hello, everyone! It’s time for June’s photo-an-hour (approximately) post. Today I thought I’d share the pictures that I took on Saturday for the #1day12pics challenge on Instagram. (If you’d like to join in next month, it’s the first Saturday of every month!)
9:30am. My favorite thing about Saturday morning is spending time with this one. I think she enjoys it too, because after spending a couple of hours side by side, when I leave the house later in the day she always looks at me like I’ve betrayed her. Poor Little One! After our blissful morning of sitting, she had a big day of betrayals. But more on that later. 🙂
11:30am. This was my quick makeup look for venturing out into the world that day: a MAC quad from the limited edition A Novel Romance collection, my fave Amazonian Clay foundation from Tarte, the Lash Sensational mascara from Maybelline and the Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer in Carrie & Big from Too Faced. (Speaking of the blushing bronzer, I had my eye on it for a long time, but wasn’t willing to pay full price, so I grabbed it during a major sale recently and LOVE it!)
1pm. And I left Little One! (Betrayal #1.) I made a quick stop at Sephora and checked out their sheet face masks. I had a hard time choosing one, but I eventually went with the pearl face mask.
2pm. After a few stops at the mall, I went to Trader Joe’s and picked up this basil plant. I also looked for my favorite (and cheap!) coconut coffee creamer and they didn’t have any… there wasn’t even an empty space for it. I don’t know why, but it comes and goes.
3:30pm. Once I was home I settled in for my half hour of writing. Of course, on Saturday it turned into over an hour.
6pm. I took a break from writing to read. This is Little One’s favorite chair, which is why I sit here to read a lot. As soon as she hears it recline she comes running! In this picture I was reading Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella.
7:30pm. And then, for betrayal #2, the time came to give Little One a bath or, in her mind, torture her. She’s such a good pup, though, because she sits and endures the torture and then lets me wrap her up in a towel and hold her for a minute before her releasing her for her after bath dance.
8:30pm. The church I’ve been attending for most of the year starts with breakfast, so everyone brings something to share. Here’s the dough for the cinnamon rolls that I took on Sunday. I had help baking the cinnamon rolls (meaning all I did was add flour to the mixer and take photos).
9:30pm. I settled in for a nighttime cup of tea.
10:30pm. The cinnamon rolls had to rise one more time before going in the oven. My mom’s cinnamon roll recipe is fantastic and they were a hit at church!
11pm. I’ve heard great things about the Dark Angels face wash from Lush and I swear by charcoal products, so I had to try it out.
11:30pm. At the end of the night, we settled in for bed. Except that after this photo was taken and posted the night wasn’t quite over for us. I washed her face and combed her hair. Then came Betrayal #3 for Little One: I cleaned her ears. She’s such a good pup when it comes to grooming. Even though she doesn’t like any of it she sits through bathing, combing, face washing and teeth cleaning, but when it comes to having her ears cleaned… she will have none of it! I have to hold her in place and sometimes I don’t even have a chance to finish it. She runs away from me and avoids me for at least a half hour after. If I stop moving closer to her, she sits and stares at me with a face filled with distrust. Oh, Little One. If only she understood that an ear cleaning twice a month means that I (hopefully) won’t have to squeeze medication into her ear twice a day. After a half hour she was (sort of) my friend again and the next day it was all forgotten!

Dang, now I'm craving a cinnamon roll. 😉
Does your babes shiver like a son of a gun while bathing her? My boy went for water therapy today and shivered like you would t believe after. Lol then again, he's always a bit dramatic, too.
