Hello. Hey. Hi. Bonjour.
It’s been a few months! In a nutshell, the last few months have been filled with: a lot of introspection, a flooded room, a lot of work, a complete rearrangement of my living space, and a friend moving in (for a few months, at least). I thought a good way to ease back into this blogging thing would be a quick peak at the last few months. I haven’t taken a lot of photos recently, but it was fun to look through everything. I’ve been so focused on a few things that I’ve forgotten about some of these moments.
April started with this handsome fella. I always miss my sweet Mina when I puppysit for Tino, but he is so adorable and lovable. I do enjoy spending the weekend with him periodically. 💙
I slipped away from Tino for a night to head to my alma mater for a night for an author panel. I went for Nicola Yoon but loved hearing everyone speak! That talk was exactly what I needed at the time and it was so much fun to be on campus again. I have all the heart eyes every time I’m there.
How many dog photos are too many? (The answer is zero!)
And then it was back home to my girl.
I discovered a place near work to get smoothie bowls. Best. Day. Ever.
Always wishin’, hopin’, and dreamin’ about a bite of someone’s meal.
A friend and I went to see a play at the Guthrie and it was in a part of the theater I’ve never been to before.
And then it was May…
My friends at Ghost Stories Ink hosted an open mic and we also read our stories from the anthology. It was such a fun night and we all got to sign the lampshade at the bookstore.
One night we had the most beautiful sunset. I snapped a photo, shared it on Instagram… and then saw that everyone in the Twin Cities shared a photo of it on Instagram and Facebook. I guess with a sunset this beautiful it’s unlikely I’d be the only one to share it! 😂
We started one project… and later that day or the next discovered that a room had flooded. It put this project on hold for awhile.
And then I was off for a much needed weekend away in Duluth. More on this coming soon!
When the cat won’t look at the camera… I meant a friend’s new cat before we went to a concert.
Where we saw Liz Vice. If you haven’t listened to her music yet, you should!
The next night we went to another concert, but the best parts of the night were dinner and a walk through Loring Park beforehand, and drinks after.
My niece provided the piano accompaniment for her school’s musical in May. It was such a proud auntie moment and after it was over we celebrated the end of the musical (that my nephew was in, too) with coffee!
I’ve gotten into plants this year and one of my new ones is this climbing rose.
Mina and I spent a weekend at my sister’s house. This is our morning hangout spot.
May ended with a work trip to Orlando.
And then it was June…
My sister, niece, and I started the month with a trip to an art fair.
And we celebrated a milestone for my niece since she insists on growing up. 😭😭 (I mean, yes, it’s a good thing, but do you remember when she was little and thought I was the coolest? I do!)
She’s the cutest. (Which is also the message I just sent to a friend after she responded to a Snap I sent of Mina curled up on her dog bed.)
My mom, niece, nephew, and I ventured out to a Chalk Art Festival. Unfortunately, after we got there it started pouring and the artists weren’t working. We grabbed lunch and headed back out once the rain slowed down.
And then I spent a night with this little guy… and my niece and nephew were there, too!
Some friends and I went to a “DJ-led worship experience” at a local church, which was really just a concert that included a sermon.
And the next night we went to Poetry Open Mic where I read some of my poetry.
No one makes you feel loved like Odin does… and we had to say goodbye through a door. 😭
Mina finally started using the dog bed I got for her in December. She’s a little slow to warm up to new dog beds.
I finally found a reformer pilates studio with classes that fit into my schedule, so I took the intro class and fell in 💙!
So many wonderful dog pictures! You are right,we can never have too many! Very cool about the author talk, I’m listening to a Nicola Yoon book on CD right now! You have definitely been busy! Nice to see a post from you! 🙂
The doggy piccs are my favorite! Looks like you had a hectic three months and that’s how life goes sometimes!
This is fantastic!! I’m from MN too!!
Smoothie bowls are so good! Gotta love ’em!
I really want to try a smoothie bowl. I wish I knew somewhere near me that sold them. Mina is too cute – love all the doggy photos! Sorry it rained on the chalk art festival; that would have been fun.

What fabulous photos! I’m not sure which I love more — the pet photos (those pups!) or the landscape. They’re lovely!
Your pup is too cute! When I’m able to get a pet I am going to take a MILLION photos of it!
