April! You have come and gone in the blink of an eye. I was looking back at my past monthly ruminations posts from this year and I’ve been trying to focus on things that I’ve learned or realized throughout the month. But… I don’t have any thoughts like that about April. At least, I don’t have any important thoughts. So, in list form, here are a few random things that I’ve learned/realized this month:
1 // Kickboxing is a great stress reliever. I love kicking stress’s butt.
2 // But if I kickbox all the time I miss dancing. It’s all about balance.
3 // Now that I’m in the habit of working out, if I go a certain length of time without a workout I start to get antsy.
4 // It’s always better to get some movement in and have a little less time to work.
5 // Artists on Snapchat are inspiring to watch.
6 // Little One is the best. (Wait, I already knew that.)
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED THIS MONTH?
Favorite Posts on Dreams, etc.:
The nice thing about taking a step back from the blog last week is that it gave me an opportunity to do some brainstorming about what I think of when I think of Dreams, etc. being the perfect place to pour myself into online and I think I was able to put a finger on exactly what I’d like this space to become. I think it’s already close to being there, but needs a little more work.
>> A PB&J-Themed Eyeshadow Palette
One of my favorite things about the palette is its theme. Some might say it’s a little much, but if you’re going to name a palette “Peanut Butter and Jelly” you might as well go all out!

>> Fave Beauty Products // April 2016
It’s been awhile since I’ve talked about the beauty products that I’ve been using and loving, but I’ve been coming back to a couple of products recently–most of them within one brand.
“It’s always better to get some movement in and have a little less time to work.” I love that!! It’s so true but so easy to convince ourselves to not work out because we think we have to do just that much more work…. That’s awesome that you are in the habit of working out. I’m slowly but surely heading back in that direction too!
I have learned that some people are really rude and I have to not let that ruin my entire week. Also, a baby’s first year goes by so quick no matter what I do.
I like the idea of analyzing and thinking back to what you learned each month – each month I set goals for myself that I hope to accomplish then I reflect and see what I achieved or why I could not. April has gone by incredibly fast. As you sai d”It’s all about balance”
I’ve been thinking of doing something super active like kickboxing to help with anger, stress & anxiety. Seems like a great idea so glad you mentioned it in your post. xx adaatude.com
It is always good to learn something new. I have not been faithful to an exercise routine but it would be good to get into one.
Well my birthday was in April and I also traveled two places – San Diego and NYC for work and met few amazing people and learnt a lot about work life balance and expanding my horizon!
April taught me that our health is our greatest good and that we need to listen to our bodies signals. I also learned that some people just aren’t worth my time.
I am looking forward to May – we have 2 birthdays coming up and the weather will probably, hopefully get better! xxx
I totally need to try a kickboxing class! I think I would love it!
I LOVE kickboxing too! I saw your workout on Snapchat, I really need to give a full kickboxing workout a go (I only do little bits of it in other workouts). 🙂
