Hello, everyone! Happy Friday! It’s been AGES since I did a Daily Diaries post and I’ve been looking forward to writing this one all week.
And what a week it was! We were super busy at work this week and we had to start coming in early because it’s back-to-school time. Can you believe it’s that time of year already? It’s crazy!
On Monday the staff went out for lunch. It was actually a celebratory lunch for my parents 50th anniversary over the weekend, because we work with my dad. We got out of the office and went to one of my family’s favorite restaurants and were able to relax for a little bit. I also colored some germs. Look at how cute they are!
Tuesday was a fun day. It started with an amusing bus ride to work. At a stoplight the bus driver called out, “Does anyone have a pen? I need to write something down!” A woman pulled a pen out of her bag and handed it to him. His response was, “Thank you! I’m a writer. I need to write things down.” After work I met up with a friend who was in town. This was the first time we have met in person, but back in the day we both had LiveJournal’s and have kept in touch over the years through Twitter and Instagram. It was a lot of fun to be able to sit down and chat in person. Kelly, if you’re reading this, I hope you enjoyed your stay in Minneapolis!
The craziness really started on Wednesday. It was an incredibly busy day–and a hot one. The AC isn’t working and it’s super hot in the office. I feel like I leave work covered in a layer of sweat. TMI, I know. Sorry! We discovered a bee nest outside. Well, I shouldn’t say we. When there was a suspicion of a bee nest I knew I’d be staying as far away from that as possible. I’m shuddering just thinking about it. After work I went out to dinner with my parents. Our server had a table outside and a boy was stung by a bee. There are swarms of them everywhere; it’s like they’re getting ready to attack. Ugh, I’m not a fan of bees.
In other news, Little One was barking in the evening and I couldn’t figure out what she was barking at. Finally I decided to get down to her level, so I sat behind her and lo and behold, there in plain view was a squirrel, sitting at the back of the yard and taunting her. I wonder what else she’s been seeing whenever I look out the window and see nothing.
I also posted a giveaway for Ellen Hopkins books, so go check that out!
I woke up on Thursday to the sound of thunder and lightning. There was a lot of water… and I left the house without an umbrella, even though I bought one earlier this year and haven’t used it yet. I’m just not much of an umbrella person, I guess.
Tonight.. I don’t know what’s happening, but sleep sounds like a great plan! It’s been a very good, but very tiring week!
How was your week?
