Daily Diaries #3

Daily Diaries #3

I thought I’d try a day-by-day recap this week and see if I like that better than just recapping the days that I thought were more exciting.

Monday found me back at work after the holiday weekend. I spent most of the evening writing. I have a feeling this draft is going to be a lot of work to clean up, because right now it’s just a word dump. But a first draft is about getting ideas out, so that’s what I’m doing. After I was done writing I watched Scandal, which I was obsessed with all weekend.

Tuesday was a bit of an exhausted day. I was so tired that I didn’t know if there was any amount of coffee that would make me feel more awake. And then someone brought in the monthly birthday cake for the office. It was chocolate with buttercream and actually gave me some energy that carried me through the day. My dad and I went out for dinner in the evening to a small Italian restaurant that we like. The bread that they serve and the tomato sauce for their pasta is delicious. And, of course, I love spending time with my dad, so it was a lot of fun.

Wednesday wasn’t all that exciting. Heather and I met for our weekly lunch, which is always a nice midweek break. I also picked up a couple of new workout DVDs. I’ve been in the mood for something new, so I thought I’d try these yoga DVDs by Jillian Michaels and I’m always drawn to ballet/barre workouts.

Thursday was just another day of the week. On Wednesday I thought it was Thursday and on Thursday I thought it was Wednesday. That about sums up the day.

Friday is always one of the best days of the week, because it’s the start of the weekend. And because a restaurant near my office has enchiladas and they are delicious.

I have been in the writing zone all weekend and have been able to get a lot done on my novel. I’m planning to take advantage of it this weekend.

How was your week?

Picture it. It’s the day after Thanksgiving. I d Picture it. It’s the day after Thanksgiving. I didn’t go on my weekly dam walk earlier in the week when I was excited about it. On this day I was tired after a long week and my least favorite holiday. My bed was oh so comfortable. I forced myself to roll out of bed and journey to the dam. It was filled with people and I was pokey…taking my time to get there and even journeying down one of the other paths to avoid walking across the dam. (Which isn’t long.) I finally joined the crowd and walked across. And then came back, happy to have made my weekly journey. This is when the top layer of the water started to freeze.
