Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
I’ve felt a little disconnected from blogging since life has been a little busy lately, so I thought that the best way to get caught up would be to go back to my blogging roots and share more about what’s been happening through photos. I went through the photos on my phone and found a bunch that didn’t make the cut for the blog or Instagram… or just didn’t make it there, due to how hectic this month felt. Some of the photos in this collection aren’t the best photos, necessarily, but they were moments that I enjoyed and captured.
I didn’t get to a bakery during pumpkin spice bagel season to get one, so I made my own using this recipe. They were delicious! // The pastor that I work with knows that a white chocolate cold press from Caribou will always make me smile. // I put together this salad for a Christmas party with one of my church groups. I started with a base of a sweet kale and chard mix, added some broccoli sprouts and shredded brussels sprouts, and then I went to town with veggies and added cucumber, sweet peppers, and radishes… okay, so maybe I didn’t add a ton of extra veggies, but I put in more than I originally planned. I topped it off with pomegranate seeds and tossed it with poppyseed dressing.
Little One went nose-to-nose with the deer decoration, then turned her attention to my hot chocolate.
I soaked up as much time with Mr. Odin and my own sweet little puppy as I could this month. And speaking of Odin, I just realized I haven’t received any snaps of him from his humans recently. I’ll have to get in touch with them. (PS – when I’m quiet on the blog and, sometimes, on Instagram and other social medias, you can usually find me Snapchat! Snapchat feels more candid and I snap one of Odin’s humans every day so I’m opening the app regularly anyway. Come find me! dreamsetcblog)
I took my niece out to dinner on a Friday night and we picked up the Oregon Trail card game from Target after. We played a few rounds with my parents and had a blast! And then I spent the rest of the night throwing up. #truestory
I don’t know what hit me, whether it was a random stomach bug or stress from a hectic schedule like my mom considered, but whatever it was, it was such bad timing since my niece spent the night. Nothing like hanging out with a sick aunt! I was back to full health in time for work on Monday though. I didn’t even get a sick day out of it! 😁
I had my glasses adjusted and the place where I bought them gives you a rose whenever you visit. This was the rose I picked out that day and it was still incredibly beautiful on Christmas Day. I’ve always loved flowers when they’re dying. Not in a morbid way, I just think they can be absolutely beautiful when they start to droop and lose their petals.
There was a conference that my boss thought would be beneficial to attend, so three of us went to Iowa for a day. The conference was totally worth the looooong drive there and back! We left after work one evening, attended the conference and then grabbed a plate of food for the drive back home.
Oh, look! It’s me! I don’t share photos of myself often–mostly because I don’t take a lot of photos of myself, but when I got home after the conference I snapped this selfie with Little One to send to my niece. She’s always threatening to dognap Little One and tried to send me a photo of herself with my pup while I was at the conference. The photo didn’t get to me until after I was back home, so I snapped this and sent it to her. My niece’s response was so funny!
I started a daily photo project of taking a photo during a certain time period, then missed that time period after the first two days. I’ll probably attempt this again at some point.
Did I mention that I soaked up time as much time with Little One as I could? This was a -17 degree day and it was the perfect day, bundled up with a cup of coffee, Little One in my lap and Harry Connick Jr. Christmas music playing.
On the first day of Christmas Break I met up with some friends downtown. They ran a bit late, so I made sure to get to a few of my places, listened to a choir singing, then made my way to Barnes & Noble where I waited for them. We visited Santa Land at Macy’s, then went to the downtown library.
Since then I’ve tried to slow down and relax as much as possible.
What’s been happening in your life?

Looks like your December was quite awesome!
Love all the pics!
Especially all the pics of Little One! xxx
It was a lot of fun! I’m having a lot of fun relaxing this week, though, since it was so busy! 🙂
I had to pick and choose which pictures of Little One to share. I take a lot of them, but I haven’t shared as many on the blog this year.
I love this idea of sharing your month in pictures. So fun! And Little One is sooo cute. I love her long ears!
It was a lot of fun to go back and relive the month through photos. I think I need to make this a regular post. 🙂 And thank you! I happen to think she’s pretty cute too. 🙂 I love her ears… although I have to clean them quite a bit because they drag through everything. 😂
Oh, I love all of these pictures!! And it’s so nice to see you in a photo–you look adorable, all snuggled with your little one. Awww, these pups are sooo stinkin’ cute!!! Also, that salad (and poppyseed dressing) sound absolutely amazing. YUM! Sounds like it’s been a great month for you and I hope that you are feeling better now! There have been so many things going around lately; I almost was sick for Christmas this year, too, but whatever I had (thankfully!) didn’t linger.
XOXO and hope you had a very Happy Holiday!!
Thank you Charlotte! I know… I don’t turn up in photos often. I feel like I always look a little awkward in photos. 😂 But I also figured it’s probably nice for people who stop by my blog to know that there’s actually a person behind it. And thank you for your sweet compliment!
I really enjoyed that salad! I need to make it again soon. 🙂
I’m glad whatever bug you came down with didn’t linger and you were healthy for Christmas! It always stinks to be sick over a holiday.
Great photos. Very cute and fun.
Thank you Nina!
Such a great collection of photos! I love Caribou and Jason’s Deli! We must live in the same part of the country since we also have those nearby.
Than you Sharon! Are you in the midwest? I don’t think we have a Jason’s Deli nearby where I live, but I was in a neighboring state for a conference. 🙂 We have Caribou’s all over, though!
Looks like you had a pretty lovely month, it’s so nice that you get a rose when you get glasses, what a sweet service!
La Belle Sirene
It was a great month! They have such nice personal touches. You can get a cup of coffee or bottles of coke to drink as you look for your glasses. They always have cookies out and each visit ends with the rose. It’s a nice experience to shop there. 🙂
