When I sat down to write this post I first entered the subject line as: Favorite Book of the Month: March. Looking ahead a little bit? I just haven’t read much this month; the Olympics and my organizational took over and occupied my attention. March is usually one of my favorite book reading months. It’s the time of year that I’m usually yearning for spring but winter keeps dragging on so I reach for books and escape into different worlds. Worlds that aren’t frozen and icy with piles of snow that could eat you alive.
Favorite Book of the Month: February 2014

I have two favorite books for the month of February: one that I already finished (and wrote about) and one that I’m hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow.
I already reviewed The Next Full Moon by Carolyn Turgeon, and this is definitely the stand out book of the month for me. As I stated in my review, it put me in the mindset of a preteen girl and I absolutely adore fairytale retellings. If you don’t mind reading middle grade novels, take a look at this one.
The one that I should finish soon is Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke. I have wanted to read this since I read her query letter on YA Highway and even though I haven’t finished it yet it still stands out in my mind as one of the best books of the month. The fact that it has taken me a few weeks to read through it in no way reflects on the book; I’ve just been a little distracted this month. This book isn’t what I expected it to be at all, but that’s not a bad thing. It feels like a very realistic world, with strange things that happen in it, and I want to know exactly what’s happening.
What is your favorite book from February?
