I started to draft this post a week or two ago, but had to stop because I discovered that one of my favorite teas has been discontinued and somehow I missed the memo. Discontinued! My favorites are never discontinued. My dad’s always are, but not mine. When I discovered that one of my faves had been discontinued I immediately asked him when he started like it, because seriously…
As you may have heard, this little thing called the polar vortex hit and it was a little bit chilly in Minnesota. I actually put on gloves with my coat and scarf, which only happens sometimes, and I even wore a hat, which only happens when the weather forecast says, “Dangerously low wind chills” or I’m trying to be fashionable. Little One didn’t spend hours chasing snowballs when we went outside and one time she even hid when she saw me putting on my coat. I drank lots of hot beverages: coffee (Gevalia’s German Chocolate Cake is my current favorite), no sugar added hot chocolate and tea. I enjoy hearing about teas that other people are enjoying, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorites.
(Discontinued!)
1. Teavana’s Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls Green Tea. This has been my favorite for awhile now and it’s also inspired many an attempted photo shoot as well as a haiku. If you don’t like jasmine you won’t like this because it does have a strong jasmine flavor, but I absolutely love it so I find the tea to be very soothing. I also cold steep this tea for a refreshing iced tea during summer.
2. Harney & Sons Chocolate Mint. A little bit chocolatey, a little bit minty, this is the perfect balance for a taste of sweetness during the day. Don’t expect a mint hot chocolate flavor, but this is delicious!
3. Tazo Calm Chamomile. I love drinking a cup of tea before bed and this one is very calming, as the name suggests. I’m usually not a fan of chamomile, but this is one that I can get behind.
4. Tea Forte Cucumber Mint. I’ve liked every tea with cucumber flavors that I have tried. This one is delicious and has a soothing scent. I think it’s part of their “skin” line too. I have a box of this at work and a canister at home.
What are your favorite teas?
