Hello, everyone! Happy Friday. It’s been a long week. A good week, but a long one. And towards the end, I had a strong desire to go sit by the ocean. It might sound strange to have that urge since I live in Minnesota and don’t have an ocean nearby, but I get that urge regularly.
Since getting to the ocean isn’t a possibility right now, I pulled up pictures that I have from previous trips and started looking through them. That’s when I came across these.
A few years ago my parents lived in Florida and my brother, my nephew and I went to visit them for the holidays. One thing that my brother and nephew wanted to do was go deep sea fishing. My mom thought it would be fun to tag along and I thought that spending a couple of hours on the ocean sounded absolutely fantastic.
I’m not into fishing, so I spent my time walking around the boat, taking pictures. One of the mates liked my camera. He kept coming over to see what kinds of pictures I was taking and chuckled when he realized that I didn’t plan on touching a fishing pole. (Don’t quote me on this, but I think we got a reduced rate for me because we told them that I wasn’t planning to fish when we made our reservations.)
I think that I had the most successful jaunt since I had the opportunity to take a lot of pictures that I still love to this day and my family didn’t catch anything. Actually, I don’t think anyone on the boat caught anything that they were able to keep. I thought it was wonderful just to be able to spend time out on the ocean, with land just a small strip in the distance.
I love the ocean! Too bad I live in MN too:( I need to go boating on a lake ASAP to get my fix:)
