I talked about green smoothies in my post on hair care earlier this week and in the comments Krysten asked if I’ve ever shared my green smoothie recipe. I shared a recipe once before, but I don’t really have a specific recipe. This smoothie was really good, so I thought I’d share what I put in it.
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut milk
2 stalks celery
1/4 cucumber
1 banana
2 cups spinach
Handful of raspberries
Some blueberries
Handful of ice
I
started with a base of a coconut milk, celery and cucumber. After that I
added the banana and spinach. Once that was blended I put in a handful
of raspberries and a few blueberries. When I make green smoothies I
don’t like to add too many blueberries or blackberries because I’ve
found that they tend to turn the smoothie a different color (the
blackberries in particular) and I like my green smoothies to look really
green. This smoothie was a gorgeous shade of green before I added the
blueberries. And then I topped the smoothie off with a few ice cubes,
because I like my smoothies really cold. This smoothie filled a 16 ounce
mason jar with a little bit left over once the jar was full.
If
you’re interested in drinking green smoothies I would recommend trying
out different combinations of fruits and greens. Even though this
smoothie had a decent amount of fruit, I’ve found that usually I prefer
my green smoothies to have more greens than fruit. Mustard greens are
the only greens that I’ve tried that I really haven’t liked in them.
Do you have any green smoothie or green juice combinations that you love?
