Happy Friday! We’ve made it halfway through January, which means if you live in the midwest like I do, we’re halfway through one of the frigid months! 👊🏼
It’s been a snowy week in my neck of the frozen tundra and whenever it has snowed, it’s always been during the morning commute. Really, weather? Really? I love snow, but it’s a little inconvenient when it comes as everyone is inching their way to work/school/wherever they’re going in the morning. (Although really, if you’re not on your way to work or school, where are you going as the sun is rising, there’s snow falling and everyone is moving at a snail’s pace? I would be at home, wrapped up in my pajama poncho, sipping a cup of coffee with my pup by my side. What’s the weather like where you are?
You’re welcome for that cliched, Minnesota conversation starter. Moving on!
Gratitude
It was a good week! One of the church groups I attend met for the first time in 2017. We had brunch for supper, which is always the best, and I got to see my buddy Odin. And on Thursday I attended a happy hour at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, where I take a lot of writing classes. It’s been a few months since I’ve been there, so it was nice to be back and hear about their vision for the year!

Listen
Ever since the video I shared last week I’ve been listening to the Johannesburg album. A big thank you to my friend Carrie for making sure I was listening and watching.
And when I’m not listening to that, I’ve been listening to The Three Goddesses of Metal, which is a collection of songs from three female-fronted metal bands (Nightwish, Within Temptation and my fave Epica).
Eat
The Spring Roll Bowls with Sweet Garlic Lime Sauce from Pinch of Yum are fantastic! I highly, highly, highly recommend them! I had this for a few meals this week and already want them again. (Also, if you’re one to pray, they could use some prayers right now as they lost their baby boy on January 1st. They have been on my mind and in my prayers ever since I first heard the news.)
Creative Pursuit of the Week
I’ve been plotting the novel I’m working on right now and getting the bare bones structure that I like to start with down on paper. I think this will be a fun one!
Tell me about your week! What have you been reading, watching, cooking, creating? What were some of the highlights?

What an amazing collection of links! I am sitting here with my favorite mug that has tea stains and off in just a second to check out that link. Also – Spring Roll Bowls! That sounds amazing.
Aww Odin is so cute <3 I can't with this cold weather and I'm sure it's a lot colder where you are located. Stay warm and enjoy puppy snuggles this weekend–no sense in going out there 🙂
Thanks for sharing all of these links and happy weekend to you!
He is! I love him! 🙂 That’s how I approached the weekend! I spent lots of time with my Little One. I ventured out to see a movie and then was done with leaving the house. I hope you had a great weekend too!
This week I’ve been creating so much content for my blog and took so many photos! What have I cooked this week? hmmmmm I made some cookies I think xx
Wow! It’s crazy to think that January is already almost half over (especially because I’m expecting a baby in March!) Ahh!
I will definitely have to check out some of those links! Thanks for sharing!
