Hello, everyone! Little One on the blog today. What’s shakin’?
I come to you today with a sad story. My eyes are all watery, my butt has lost its wiggle, my tail hangs limply. Why am I so sad, you ask? Well, it’s simple. I have been betrayed. By my writer.
I know! I can hear your gasps. I can feel your shock. And let me tell you…. I felt all of those things too.
If you’d like the story, here it is. Over the weekend my BFF-who-doesn’t-know-it-yet came to visit. He was his usual grumpy, growly, trying to fight his loving feelings for me self. He slept in the bed that I so graciously allow him to use when he visits, even if my writer says it was purchased for him. (I’ve always known she was lying… at least, I’ve always thought she was.)
It was a normal day. He’d sleep and ignore me, waking only to ask the humans to treat us with kindness and drop a few nibbles of food on the floor during dinner and make quick jaunts outside. That night he slept in his bed, and I slept in mine.
The next day, my writer and I woke up and went through our normal routine. I went outside and ate breakfast. My writer sat down to eat her breakfast and I asked her to treat me with kindness and drop a few nibbles of food. After, she sat down. I was busy checking to be sure the floor was clean—out of the kindness of my heart, without being asked! And how did she repay me for my generosity?
As I was checking the floor, I felt it. Instinctively I knew there was a betrayal taking place, so I ran into the next room and saw it.
My writer. Sitting with my BFF-who-doesn’t-know-it-yet asleep on her lap.
And when I looked at her asking for a spot on her lap as well, did she shove him aside so that I, her sweet pup, could sit with her? No, she just looked at me and allowed the crotchety old dog who is mean to me sit with her!
I know what you’re thinking! How cruel, after the years of love and devotion that I have given her. So now, I’m trying to figure out how to get to the house where my writer’s niece lives. I’m sure she’ll take care of me and love me as I deserve to be loved.
Don’t worry, I’ll also devise a plan to continue blogging so that you can continue to hear from me. We’ll keep in touch!
Until next time, keep those tails wa…aggin’!
*sob*
