I think it’s long overdue that I write a review of the Unzipped palette from Lorac. Not only is it one of my fave palettes, but whenever I include it in a picture, I’m asked what I think of it. I’ve talked about it briefly, but I haven’t given it the love it deserves, and I thought February would be the perfect time to talk about the palette in more detail, because it’s the month of Valentine’s Day. And this palette is filled with pinky tones. And I love it. Pink + love = Valentine’s Day!
Yeah, I don’t know what I’m talking about either. Moving on.
I looked at this palette for a LONG time, but I was hesitant to pick it up because it’s a rose-gold palette and I already had the Naked 3. Eventually the beauty of the palette won out. And I had a coupon. And points that were about to expire.
And once I received it I was so happy that I picked it up, because I think it’s actually quite different from the Naked 3 palette. If you’d like to see a comparison, I’ll be posting one next week. I think it’s different enough that people who were disappointed in the Naked 3 palette might actually prefer the Unzipped palette, but I’ll talk about that more in my comparison post.
This is the perfect palette for me. The rose tones match my skin tone quite well and the gold tones aren’t too gold. I love that this can be really neutral, but it also has some darker shades that really jazz things up. Unbridled is such a gorgeous color that I haven’t used much of yet, mostly because I’m afraid that I’ll go a little overboard since I mostly use this on weekdays and I work at a school. There’s no need to go all out with makeup there!
One of my go-to every day looks is to use Unreal on the lid with Unattainable in the crease and, if I feel like a little something extra, Uncensored or Unspoken in the outer corner. (I probably should have cleaned up the palette a bit before posting pictures on the internet, but hey, a powdery palette means well-loved.) As always, I top it off with eyeliner and mascara. I usually don’t go for black eyeliner when using this palette, so I prefer something like Crave, Twice Baked or Tornado (not pictured) from Urban Decay.
HAVE YOU TRIED THIS PALETTE? WHAT’S PART OF YOUR EVERYDAY MAKEUP LOOK?
Note – I purchased all of the products listed in this post.
