Look who stayed with me for the weekend! Sorry for the blurry picture, but once I had both of them somewhat looking at the camera at the same time I knew that I had all of one second before the Canine Nephew jumped off the chair. I knew this because after a handful of other failed attempts to focus before taking the picture, I had to try and stop him from taking the leap. So once they were there I snapped the picture and sure enough, right after he left the chair behind.
The Canine Nephew stayed with me for the weekend and he and Little One tolerated each other quite well. That’s not to say that they were BFF’s but they tolerated being around each other and that’s a step in the right direction in my book! Maybe in a few years they’ll finally love each other.
May has arrived, although you wouldn’t have known it right at the start if you were in Minnesota. We were alternating between 70 degree days and snow but now the snow has melted and it’s hot and… maybe it’s officially spring/summer now? May also means that it’s time to share my goals for the new month as well as update give an update on my goals for April.
I’ll start with April. I set a goal of 10 books, but wasn’t sure if I’d make it. Apparently I know myself well because I didn’t quite make it. However, I did come close! I made it to 8, but I was caught up by the end of the month, which is what I wanted most in the end, so I’ll take it.
And for writing, I wanted to send The Porcelain Doll to beta readers. I haven’t actually sent the email yet. I’m reading through it to make sure that it still flows well after some changes and scene rewrites that I made throughout the month. I’m glad I did, because I already found some tweaking that needs to be done. But it’s in my calendar to send tomorrow or Wednesday. I also wanted to write 50,000 words for Camp NaNo and… I wrote 3,000. I was so focused on The Porcelain Doll that I didn’t even come close and I am 100% satisfied with that.
My goals for May are:
- to read 8 books, and
- to write 30,000 words of a new project.
Do you have any goals for May?
my goals. to read more books as well. thanks for the inspiration….
It is impossible to get two dogs looking at the camera at the same time. I recently got K together with two other dogs, and getting all THREE of them even in frame was a struggle. They all turned out blurry. But this pictureis soooo cute!
My goals for May are mostly work-related… but since that does involve writing and reading, I guess it's creative enough. 🙂
