(I sent this to some friends yesterday and my mom thought it was funny and told me I should post it, so… posted with permission.)
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in the US and I typically don’t acknowledge Mother’s or Father’s Day, but last year I wrote a post to my dad. So this year, I wanted to write a post for my mom, because she’s pretty awesome too.
Thank you Mom for:
// introducing me to Odyssey of the Mind in elementary school
// passing on your love of the written word
// always, always, always encouraging me to follow my dreams
// reading every word I’ve written–at least, every word I’ve written that I’ve shared with others
// not being afraid to tell me when something could use a little more work (even though I don’t always want to hear it)
// telling me to just do [insert creative goal here] already
// sharing books
// your bravery
// showing me who I want to be when I’m older
// always being ready to talk when I need to
// loving me, even though I probably exasperate you sometimes (often?) and you probably think I’m weird
…… but hey, I got my weirdness from someone, so it might be from you! đ
What a sweet idea to thank you Mom. Our Mom’s deserve our love and blessings.
What a beautiful message, I’m sure your mother loved it like nothing else!
