Note – I purchased all of the products listed in this post. I was not paid to write about the product. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I sat down to write this post and thought, “How long ago was I in Eagle River?” It feels like it’s been much longer than two weeks, but that’s when it was; last week was just a long one!
So two weeks ago when I was in Eagle River I packed a make-up bag to bring with, of course. I wasn’t planning to go all out with my make-up. I knew I’d be in a cabin and on a boat most of the time and didn’t need a full face of make-up to greet the wildlife. (Not that I feel the need to have a full face of make-up to greet anyone.) But I knew there was a possibility that we’d head into town for a few meals and, even if we didn’t, we would definitely be hitting up a Wisconsin Friday night fish fry. I knew I’d want make-up for that.
When I travel I want everything to it into one make-up bag–a bonus if the brushes fit too–so I took the Rainforest After Dark palette from Tarte. This is the perfect palette if you want to make things fit, because it has a range of eye shadows, as well as blush, highlighter and bronzer. I love the colors of eye shadows in this palette; you can go totally natural or glam it up a bit for a night out. Other than a BB cream and a setting powder, I didn’t bring any other face products. I did bring an extra eye shadow quad from MAC because I wanted some cooler toned shadows to match the lipstick that I brought for a particular outing that we went on… but more on that later. If it hadn’t been for that particular look, I wouldn’t have needed any other eye shadow.
This is definitely a go-to product for me for traveling. I believe this palette is limited edition, but I think you can still buy it. (I saw it the last time I was in Sephora.) If you can’t get your hands on this one, the Showstopper palette from Tarte is set up the same way.
