RTW: Goals for the New Year

January 17, 2013August 25, 2015 Crystal // Dreams, etc. 2 comments

It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in Road Trip Wednesday but I thought I’d give it a go again!  From YA Highway:

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway’s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody’s unique take on the topic.

This week’s question is:

Imagine you get to open your own bookstore. What would it look like? What kinds of books would you sell?

I’ve actually thought about this a lot because I’ve toyed with the idea of owning my own bookstore for many years.  My bookstore idea has changed over time and certain features have come and gone, like the yoga/dance studio that I planned to have attached to the store.

But now, if I were to open my own bookstore it would be filled with books of different genres; Young Adult, Mysteries, Horror would all make an appearance.  It would be a place where lovers of specific genres would be able to come and relax.  It would be filled with cushions on the floor to sit on, along with some chairs for those who aren’t able to sit on the floor and push themselves back up easily.

There would also be a coffee and tea shop with tables for people to sit and work at.  There would also be a selection of freshly baked treats like muffins, cupcakes and biscotti available.  And I would spend as much time in the kitchen as possible!

What would your bookstore be like?
