Yes, you read that. September in photos. Since we’ve reached December (hi 👋🏽, it’s been awhile!) and I STILL haven’t posted a September in Photos post I thought about combining these with October and November, but… I have enough that I wanted to give them their own post. I should be able to combine October/November. I don’t think I took a lot of photos those months, but we’ll see once I actually sort through ’em!
Also, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything but a book review. I don’t have much to say about that other than life. Life has been fine, but busy, and for my sanity something needed to give for a little bit. The blog was it. So was fiction writing. And I’m finally feeling inspired for both of those things again. 🎉 I just don’t feel 100% like myself if I’m not writing.
Let’s jump into the post! September can be described in three ways: all work and no play…, coffee (as always), and Little One (💙💙💙). I hope you don’t mind those last two in particular, because you’re going to see a lot of them. Especially Little One. Also, I was going to say this was the first month since May or June that I didn’t go to Wisconsin, but… that’s not true.
And the Mina photos start…. now!
I’ve been spending a lot of time on the opposite side of Minneapolis, which has been a lot of fun with all the construction taking place! #sarcasm On this day, I was with my dad so I was able to snap a photo of the skyline. Do you know what you can’t see in this photo? The new stadium! 🎉 And let me tell ya, it’s not an easy feat to see Minneapolis without seeing that monstrocity. There’s a reason some call it “the big ugly.”
And now I’m sad, because this guy hasn’t visited for awhile and I miss him. But I want to introduce all of you to my turkey friend, who used to make daily visits. Isn’t he beautiful?
My niece and nephew spent the night so we had a movie night, per usual. My nephew and my pup are buds. 💙
She likes to keep an eye on me.
Work and oils.
She’s the cutest when she’s asleep/waking up from sleep to watch me. And I need to vacuum my couch. Let’s keep moving.
Sometimes the couch is my office.
I started this book at a coffee shop and I’m still only about 30 pages in, even though I’m really enjoying it. Life. #endofyearTBR?
Coffee on the move.
A coffee run with my dad after church. 💙 Those are the best.
She always lets me know when she thinks I need a break from work. Sometimes she’s right and sometimes she’s just hoping she can get a tummy rub (and is also right).
Listening to my niece play the piano is one of my favorite things.
Little One is like most other dogs: she’s always hoping for some of the food the humans are eating. But lettuce? So not impressed by it! Pretty much everything green and leafy loses her attention, although she’ll take a few licks of a green smoothie.
I went out for pizza with my parents one night at Pizza Lucé. The pasta salad is called the “Lucky Luciano Pasta Salad” and, true story: my dad used to be best buds with Lucky Luciano. And by best buds, I mean he was buds… well, acquaintances… with Lucky Luciano. And by acquaintances I mean they spoke at least once. We had beer with the meal, but my dad said Lucky Luciano always drank a glass of wine, so… next time. 😂 (The REAL true story: my dad and his friends sometimes went to the night club Lucky Luciano owned in Italy. They spoke at least one. That’s where the connection between them ends.)
My aunt passed away and I helped my mom with some of the funeral planning.
She always puts a smile on my face.
I’ve discovered that one great form of self-care for me when I’m stressed is going to see a movie in theaters. It’s the one place I can’t pull out my phone and multitask. Bonus points if it’s a horror movie, because I actually find them to be relaxing.
At the end of the month, it was back to Wisconsin. I have a nephew who’s only 5 1/2 years younger than me. There’s a big age difference between my oldest siblings and me (but we have the same mom and dad…that’s a question I’m always asked when family comes up). Anyway, my nephew got married!
And it was beautiful.
How was your September? What’s been happening in your life? Fill me in on what I’ve missed!
[Tweet “Let’s throw it back to September with… *drum roll* September in photos!”]

LOL better late than never! Always love your pup pictures! I love Pizza Luce too, that one looks so good. Dark Matter is on my list to read one of these days. I’m so off the reading bandwagon right now.
Nothing wrong with looking back to September. Wonderful to look back and enjoy.
Loved to see that you visited WI! I’m from MKE. 🙂
Your pup is just adorable! I like to take tons of photos of my dog as well haha.
I’m so glad I am not the only one behind! I feel like I’m still in the early fall… it’s almost Christmas. Aside from the passing of your Aunt (my condolences) it looks like a great September! Did you ever finish the book? Is it good!? I’m always looking for a new read! <3
