The Sunday Currently #15

The Sunday Currently #15

I’ve been in the mood for salads lately. One day last week when I didn’t take something to work for lunch I ran to Au Bon Pain to get a salad. I had their Southwestern Chicken Salad and loved it so much that I immediately looked for recipes that would be similar. I combined this recipe and this one. I also made the dressing in each recipe, but added some chipotle seasoning to it to make it more like the dressing from Au Bon Pain. It was delicious and totally hit the spot. As I was working on lunch I saw the rainbows on the floor, made from the light of the sun shining through a crystal that’s hanging by the window. The rainbows always make me think of the woman who watched me when I was younger. I gave her one and after I moved from Wisconsin she’d write about watching the light shine through the crystal in her kitchen. I miss her.

READING Her Dark Curiosity, by Megan Shepherd. I bounced between this novel and another all week, so I’m finishing this one up now.
WRITING my novel and answers to some questions.
LISTENING to Reality Boy, by A.S. King. For awhile I’ve been thinking about starting to listen to audiobooks. I take the bus to work and I’ve always wished that I could read, as I spend a decent amount of time commuting. But I get really motion sick if I do. I was really resistant to the idea of audiobooks, even though I greatly enjoyed listening to Harry Potter when I was younger. I didn’t think I’d enjoy an audiobook as much as I’d enjoy reading a book, but… so far I’m enjoying it. I started with Reality Boy, which I found at the library, and I have already started an account with Audible. So, we’ll see if and how long this audiobook thing continues.
THINKING about the book that I’m reading. It’s so good!
SMELLING kale soup on the stove.
WISHING this cold away. I only feel the beginnings of a cold and I’m hoping that it will go away before it becomes something more.
HOPING to have more time to work on my classes on Skillshare this week.
WEARING yoga pants and a sweatshirt.
LOVING lip gloss, which is a bit of a switch for me. Usually I’m all about the lipsticks, but there have been some great lip glosses out on the market recently.
WANTING to get some extra workouts in this week. I just feel the need to move.
NEEDING fresh fruits and veggies. I’ve been wanting salads for lunch recently.
FEELING less rundown than I did at the beginning of the weekend.

On this day I was tired after a long week and my least favorite holiday. My bed was oh so comfortable. I forced myself to roll out of bed and journey to the dam. It was filled with people and I was pokey…taking my time to get there and even journeying down one of the other paths to avoid walking across the dam. (Which isn’t long.) I finally joined the crowd and walked across. And then came back, happy to have made my weekly journey. This is when the top layer of the water started to freeze.
