Tonight, I’d like to thank my hair. Earlier this year I went from black to red. It was a long process to bleach out all of the black and put in the red and it’s also a process that is very hard on the hair. But my hair is still soft and strong and most people are surprised when they find out what I put it through this year. So thank you for hair, for staying healthy after all that I put you through.
I think the reason for this is the green smoothies that I drink most days. In fact, when I don’t think that I’m in the mood for a green smoothie I think about my hair and I pour a glass.
And then there’s my amazing stylist who stayed in the salon until almost midnight and spent five hours bleaching and coloring my hair. She is awesome! I wanted to make this change for years but couldn’t find a stylist who was willing to try to bleach the dark color from my hair. When I told her what I wanted to do, she tested a strip of hair to see if the black would bleach out well and when she saw that it would, she was on board.
I went to the salon tonight to have my hair done for the last time in 2012, aka The Year I Became a Redhead. She told the new stylist at the salon about my hair transformation and the new stylist asked, “How’d you do it?” My stylist’s response? “We got to know each other very well that night.”
So true!

November 17, 2012 at 6:53 amLovely hair, Crystal. 🙂 I've been meaning to grow out my hair, and I'd love to be able to braid it again someday soon!
