I’ve been a little hesitant to write this post because I don’t want this to come off as sounding like I don’t like the Naked 3 palette. I do and I use it, but I reach for the Unzipped palette more often because I think it works a little better for me than the Naked 3. And it might work better for some of you! Here’s a quick comparison:
Both palettes have rose gold tones and the shades look very similar in the pan, which is why I held off buying the Unzipped palette by Lorac for awhile.
However, I’ve found that the colors in the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay tend to be a bit deeper than the shadows in the Unzipped palette, so for me and my skin tone the Unzipped palette has less of a possibility to look like I have a lot of redness around my eyes. When I use the Naked 3 it’s best if I wear a black eyeliner (a deep purple also works, but not as well) and it has to be a liner that will not fade throughout the day. I typically use a liquid liner with this one, which I prefer not to wear on weekdays.
I also think that the Unzipped palette is more pigmented and I have to work less with it to get a variation of color. This makes it better for every day use and if I want a rose-gold look on a workday, I’ll reach for the Unzipped palette over the Naked 3 for this reason.
While I like the Naked 3 palette and really enjoyed it when it was first released, I was one of those who was a little disappointed in it because it wasn’t what I was expecting it to be. The Unzipped palette is what I expected when I first heard about the Naked 3, so if you were also a little disappointed in it, you might want to stop by a store to check out the Unzipped palette. It might be what you were looking for!
HAVE YOU TRIED EITHER OF THESE PRODUCTS? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
