I didn’t really think that I had a routine for weekend mornings until I grabbed a cup of coffee and a book after eating breakfast one morning. My sister’s dog, Wolf, was over and as soon as he and Little One saw me do that, they ran to the couch. Apparently, I do.
I love weekend mornings and I really look forward to waking up earlier (although not as early as weekdays!) because of what I like to do in the morning. Here’s a little peek at my weekend morning routine.
Weekend mornings start with tummy rubs, a step up from the tummy pats that I give on my rushed weekday mornings. Little One loves them so much that she would probably lay there for hours. But she’s always quick to jump when I say, “Outside?”
Next it’s time to drink a glass of water. This is part of my weekday morning routine too, because a glass of water first thing in the morning is something that I always look forward to!
After we get out of bed it’s time for breakfast. I love breakfast on weekend mornings. Usually it’s a plate of veggies with eggs and a piece of toast. Sometimes I have a small green smoothie on the side.
I follow that up with a cup of coffee and a reading session with Little One by my side. She likes to alternate between snoozing and keeping a protective eye out the window while I visit different worlds as I flip pages!
Tell me about your morning routine in the comments or
share it on Twitter or Instagram (be sure to tag me!) and I’ll share it
with a link back to your blog or social media in a post later this
week!

I practically sprint to get coffee. And then getting the furry kids out of bed or giving them snuggles before they start their day.
