What I’m Loving // August

What I’m Loving // August

Time has been getting away from me this month. I can’t believe it’s already time to post what I’ve been loving this month. To be honest, I feel like the month has gone so quickly that I haven’t really had any time to come up with a favorite, but there are some things that I’ve either been reaching for on a regular basis or have just loved throughout the month, so here they are.

Daily Make-Up

This month, make-up has been fairly minimal. It was hot in the office and I wasn’t interested in going all out. My go-to look has been Laneige BB Cream in Light or my trusty MAC Matchmaster foundation, in 1.0 topped with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent. For the eyes I’ve been reaching for my trusty Stila In the Light palette, with Kitten and Bliss being my go-to colors. I finished it off by coating my lashes with Lights, Camera, Splashes mascara by Tarte and I was good to go. If I felt like going a little above and beyond (or was sporting red, allergy eyes) I used the Urban Decay Naked Basics eyeliner duo, with Crave on the upper lash line and Venus on the waterline. And when I felt like adding some extra color to my cheeks, I pulled out the Naked Flushed palette in Native.

Movies

When I was getting ready to prepare this post I checked my notebook with a list of books read, movies watched and favorite items to see what I’ve been loving this month. I had one “favorite” listed, but the movie list was full. I think it’s time to schedule another movie roundup!

Cleansing Oil

For awhile I’ve been thinking about ditching make-up removing wipes and I’ve been interested in giving cleansing oils a try. Finally last month I picked up the new Garnier cleansing oil and have been using that every day that I wear make-up. I absolutely love it! It removes my make-up quickly and gets rid of it all, unlike the wipes. If a little mascara or eyeliner remains I follow up with an eye makeup remover that I have, but I rarely have to do that. Not only that, but my skins looks better than it did before.

Family

My absolute favorite thing about August was spending time with family. Taking time to relax and hang out with my siblings and my parents was exactly what I needed. I loved holding my baby nephew and watching Little One keep an eye on him. (So cute!) And what could be a better “favorite” for the month?

What (or who) have you been loving in August?

On this day I was tired after a long week and my least favorite holiday. My bed was oh so comfortable. I forced myself to roll out of bed and journey to the dam. It was filled with people and I was pokey…taking my time to get there and even journeying down one of the other paths to avoid walking across the dam. (Which isn’t long.) I finally joined the crowd and walked across. And then came back, happy to have made my weekly journey. This is when the top layer of the water started to freeze.
