Your Ultimate Christmas Music Playlist

Your Ultimate Christmas Music Playlist

It’s that time of year! Some might even say it’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s that time when it’s socially acceptable to crank Christmas music 24/7 and have Christmas dance parties around the tree with the dog. That means we need a Christmas music playlist. And it just so happens that I have one for you. (Actually, I have two!)

Each year I create a Christmas music playlist to share with all of you. It’s usually a brand new one, but this year I’m doing it a little differently.

Why? Because I loved last year’s playlist I didn’t feel a need to create a brand new one.

There will be a little fluctuation with this one. I’ve already pulled one song off, I’ll be swapping another one out, and I’ll probably add a few new songs to it throughout the month (I’m looking at you, Audrey Assad’s new winter album!).

But I absolutely loved this one last year and I was excited to listen to it again next year. Why create a new one just for the sake of tradition when this is the one I want/need? And I hope you enjoy it, too!

As it does every year, this Christmas music playlist starts with Sleigh Ride by Harry Connick, Jr. since this is the song I always listen to first each year. And it ends with Pink Martini’s Auld Lang Syne. If you haven’t heard this version, rest assured, it’s not what you’re used to! It’s a mix of secular and religious music (I love both!) and walks you through the month from before Christmas, through Christmas and the birth of our Savior, and into New Year’s Eve.

I have to versions of the playlist to share with you. The first was so long (over 2 hours!) and I didn’t know what to cut out of it permanently, so I also created an abridged version that clocks in at just over an hour.

The playlists are available on Spotify so you can follow them so that you can listen throughout the month if you’d like.

I hope you enjoy these playlists!

And tell me what your favorite Christmas songs are!

And it’s not letting me embed the Abridged version, so here’s a link to it.
